Tap Bolts
DIC Fasteners is a Manufacturer of Tap Bolts, also known as Hex Head Bolts, which have comparable tolerances to hex head cap screws and are sometimes referred to as fully threaded cap screws. Tap Bolts have a variety of uses for construction, agriculture, and automotive applications. Like Tap Screws, tap bolts do not form their internal mating thread, but they are designed to be inserted through holes in assembled parts and tightened by torquing a nut.
The size of the Tap Bolts head varies with the size of the Bolt. As the Bolt is externally wrenched, adequate space around the head must be allowed for a wrench or socket. We provide all kinds of Tap Bolts in standard and non-standard sizes and materials.
- Grade 2: These Tap Bolts are made from AISI 1006 – 1025 or equivalent steel, and to be used in drilled and tapped holes that are threaded full length.
- Grade 5: Grade 5 Tap Bolts are made AISI -1541 or equivalent medium carbon steel and heat treated. These are commonly used in automotive industries.
- Grade 8: Grade 8 Tap Bolts are made from carbon alloy with heat treated. Generally used in automotive and fleet industries where high strength is required.
